They&#39;re awful and horrific, but it let us know what those men sacrificed. I think this one might be pushing it, though. Some stories need to be told so we can learn from our mistakes (Holocaust...if we didn&#39;t have videos or tapes, the people responsible might not have been convicted)...whereas this was an accident. I guess everyone has to decide where to draw the line. A few years ago I did a project that was very personal to me and to the people being photographed, and it was hard to draw the line of when to keep photographing and when to stop. And that was just a project of personal history - not an important world event that was really important to be documented. Important to me? Yes. Important to the world? Not really. So the only one who missed out when I put down my camera was me - and I was there to live it, anyway. I have no idea what I would do if I was confronted with a situation like this one, where I knew a photograph needed to be taken but it didn&#39;t feel like the right thing. Especially because, as a photographer, taking a picture almost always feels like the right thing to do, in any situation ... I can&#39;t imagine the kind of situation that would illicit that kind of feeling in me (&quot;you shouldn&#39;t take a picture of this, cate!&quot;). I have no idea what I would do. Does that make me a bad photographer?
